ONSITE ACTIVITIES

We have three certified moorings if you have visitors coming in on their own vessels. Flights are available from Nelson, Wellington and Blenheim.

  • Relax

    Getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday in an idyllic setting to recharge and refresh. Whether it’s watching the sailboats cruise by, soaking in the hot tub with a glass of one of Marlborough’s finest wines or watching the native birds, gazing at the stars at night; relaxing in the privacy of our exclusive bay is the perfect option to melt the stress away. Watch the cheeky Weka run through the garden or the delightful wood pigeon swoop through the trees.

  • Fishing

    Whether its quiet fishing off the jetty at night or fishing on Indian Summer we have plenty of options to choose from with all gear supplied for your experience. 

  • Swimming and Sunbathing

    Exclusive use of our idyllic bay to sunbath and swim with the added chance of seeing visiting pods of dolphins, seals and the occasional orca.

  • Snorkelling

    There is plenty to see right here in the bay or further afield when out on the launch for the day. All snorkelling gear is available to use at any time during your stay.

  • Helicopter

    Chartering a helicopter to explore natures paradise is simple and with the space to land on the front lawn of the property the opportunities are endless. Picking up and dropping off extra guests is always an option with flights available from Nelson, Wellington or Picton.

  • Walks

    Whether it’s a walk up the creek to view the natural flora and fauna or at night to view the magnificent glow worms in their natural habitat there is an abundance of nature to take in.

  • Kayaking

    We have kayaks available for use at any stage during your stay with us. 

  • Water-Skiing and Ski Biscuit

    If you are feeling more adventurous we have water skis and a ski biscuit and are happy to assist you in having some water fun in the bay.

  • ATV Tour

    Take a guided tour with us on the ATV to take in the extensive view out over the sounds, the Cook Strait and all the way to Wellington on a clear day. You may even spot a native Arapawa Island goat or two along the way.

The Marlborough Sounds has endless opportunities to discover and explore. 

  • Cruising on Indian Summer

    The options are endless; whether it’s a day of fishing, cruising around the Sounds to take in the sights or reading a book while the others fish there is something for everyone when cruising on the boat for the day. 


    Indian Summer is capable of 23 guests + 2 crew members.

  • Fishing

    There is a vast variety of fish in the Marlborough Sounds including Cook Strait Groper, Kingfish, Blue cod, Gurnard, Snapper, and Terakihi. We have everything you need to catch these beautiful fish with the facilities on board.

  • Visiting Local Restaurants

    While cruising on Indian Summer there are a number of local restaurants we can visit along the way.

  • Motuara Island Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary

    Enjoy a walk on the well-formed track to the summit and take in the the views of the glorious Marlborough Sounds. Motuara island is covered with regenerating forest and has been pest free since 1991. 


    Look for penguins on shore or in their nesting boxes along the track. 


    Nikau palms


    Spot the native birds including the rare South Island Saddleback and Bush Robin you will find their information cards along the walk making identification easy.

  • Ship Cove

    Discover why Ship cove was so important to local Māori and later became the favourite anchorage for Captain James Cook. 


    Explore the native bush and a 30-minute walk to view the waterfall. Pack a picnic and sit at the waka shaped picnic table while enjoying the sights on the shore.
